Description
Hermanus Brood was a Dutch singer, painter, pianist, actor, and author. Besides his music, he also worked as a painter. He worked in large formats and bright colors, his work following the Cobra tradition. He often applied letters to his work in black paint.
During this workshop, we’ll use a variety of techniques, just like Herman Brood: paint and brushes, spray cans, and stencils. Participants will first create several designs with paper and chalk, and then develop their favorite design on canvas. By incorporating elements typical of Brood’s work, and by using primary colors and black lines, the painting acquires a recognizable style.
