About

The Redhead Days festival is a gathering of tens of thousands of people in the city center of Tilburg, including many thousands of redheads from over 80 countries. It is the oldest, largest, and most spectacular redhead festival in the world.

Our philosophy

The festival is based on three core values: connection, pride, and recognition.
Each activity at the festival includes one or more of these values.

  • Connection stands for connecting with other festival visitors, perhaps even redheads from other countries. You will feel the connection you have as a redhead with other redheads from around the world. Connection is also the reason why redheads from more than 80 countries come to Tilburg; they want to meet you.

  • Pride stands for recognizing and acknowledging who you are. Everyone has special qualities, but many children try to hide them in order to blend in as much as possible with the crowd. We believe you shouldn't. Anything that makes you special, whether that is red hair or a quality, like introversion, is something you should not hide, but rather celebrate proudly and exuberantly and make it your unique selling point. Do you have bright red hair and making you visible from a mile away? Become a presenter, or comedian, or runway model!

  • Recognition is about understanding and embracing why you are different from others. The average redhead is significantly different from the average fellow with a different hair color. Not only your hair color, but also your skin, your pain threshold, and your character are different. Recognize and learn why that is, and take advantage of it.

Because the festival celebrates the uniqueness of people, it also attracts people who are different in other ways. Actually, everyone is different, and we celebrate that.

 FAQ

  • The festival takes place in the last full weekend of August, so the next edition will be August 29-31 2025. The most important festival day is Sunday August 31 2025, when we take the famous group photo.

    Location:
A lot of the activities will take place in Spoorpark, Tilburg, which is also where the campsite is located. Other activities will take place in the city centre (like the kick-off party and pubcrawl).

Traveling to and staying in Tilburg:
If you live too far away to come by bike (although some of of our visitors cycle 100s of miles!), please come to our festival by train or by car together with other festival visitors, that is better for the environment and it is fun! How do you recognize fellow train travelers going to the festival? Duh, just look at them :)

Find out more about traveling to and staying in Tilburg on this page.

  • The festival is free for everyone to visit! You don’t need a ticket to join us.

However, we do ask a small fee for some of the activities and workshops (e.g. the Pubcrawl and Kick-off party).

You will be able to buy digital tickets for those activities from the webshop as soon as they are available, as well as our official merchandise and digital tickets for the RED Campsite.

You will also be able to buy tickets during the festival, but they might sell out!

  • The theme color for 2024 was GREEN!

For the 2025 edition the color is of yet undecided, but we'll let you know as soon as possible!

We ask you to wear a shirt/top/dress in this color during the big photoshoot on Sunday. Of course we will be selling official merchandise in thie theme color at the festival and in our webshop.

  • Everyone, and you don’t need to be a redhead!

Many redheads come to the festival with family; even fans of redheads are welcome. The youngest participant to date was only two weeks old; the oldest was a Canadian woman of 85 years. There are activities for every age group.

One activity is exclusively for natural redheads: the big group photo shoot on Sunday.

Our house rules are applicable to all visitors.

  • A lot of the activities will take place in Spoorpark, Tilburg, which is also where the campsite is located. Unfortunately, they don’t allow dogs in this park, we’re sorry!

  • There are actually a couple of ways to help support the Redhead Days.

    • You can join our team or volunteer during the festival (which is a lot of fun!)

    • You can buy items or perks (donations) from our webshop. All proceeds will go to organizing more activities during RHD.

    • Help promote the festival so more people will join! You can order free invite cards from our webshop or share the festival on social media (#REDHEADDAYS).

    Thank you so much!

  • Redhead Days is a sustainable festival, we try to limit our environmental impact, for example through using renewable electricity, separating waste streams, circular drinking cup system, free water taps, supply of vegetarian food and other environmental-saving measures. Will you help?
