Make a Bob Ross painting
Saturday 3pm

Painting like Bob Ross is done with oil paint. This is a beautiful material, but it is difficult to remove from clothing. The participants of the Bob Ross workshop are therefore advised to wear old clothing. In addition, we work with a disposable coat with long sleeves and possibly gloves. The workshop starts with simple instructions on how to prepare the canvas. Then, step by step, we demonstrate how to build a beautiful landscape. Because you cannot make mistakes during this Bob Ross workshop, the participant can give his or her own twist to his or her painting. Little by little, the painting takes shape, until a classic, kitschy landscape painting is created. If desired, cheerful birds and bunnies can be added.

Dutch artist Hermanus Brood painting
Saturday 2pm & Sunday 2pm

Hermanus Brood was a Dutch singer, painter, pianist, actor and author. In addition to his music, he also worked as a painter. He worked on a large scale and with bright colours, whereby his work was in the tradition of Cobra. He often applied letters to his work with black paint.

During this workshop, we will work with all kinds of techniques, just like Herman Brood: paint and brushes, spray cans and stencils. The participants first make a number of designs with paper and chalk, and then they work out their favourite design on a canvas. By using typical elements from Brood's work, and by using primary colours and black lines, the painting gets a recognisable style.
